Practice Manager – General Practice

Are you an experienced healthcare leader, or a senior medical administration professional ready to take the next step in your career? Our busy and friendly general practice is seeking a Practice Manager to lead our team and ensure the smooth, efficient operation of the clinic.

About the Role

As Practice Manager, you will oversee the day-to-day operations of the practice, support our clinical and administrative teams, and help deliver an exceptional patient experience. You will be responsible for staff management, compliance, financial performance, and continuous improvement across the practice.

This role may also suit a Senior Receptionist or 2IC looking to step into a leadership position. Comprehensive training and support will be provided to ensure a successful transition.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and support clinical and administrative staff.
• Oversee scheduling, patient flow, and reception operations.
• Ensure compliance with accreditation, regulatory, and Medicare requirements.
• Manage budgeting, billing, and financial reporting.
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and patient experience.
• Maintain policies and procedures that support a safe and welcoming practice environment.

About You

• Experience in practice management, healthcare administration, or a senior medical reception role.
• Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent organisational and problem-solving abilities.
• Experience with medical software systems such as Best Practice, Cubiko, and Tanda.
• Understanding of Medicare, private billing, and compliance requirements.
